Product Description

FRP Pultruded Grating
Combining corrosion resistance, long life and a low maintenance design, FRP pultruded grating (Fiberglass pultrusion grating) is superior to conventional metallic gratings. This advanced grating is manufactured with a recessed tie bar configuration and is lightweight and easy to fabricate. Savings on labor and equipment often make the total installed cost of grating comparable to that of steel.
Manufactured with a high percentage of glass within the laminate, pultruded grating provides durability, extremely high unidirectional strength and stiffness. Due to its exceptional stiffness, it can be used with confidence where wide support spans are required. Our industrial grating rarely requires additional support when replacing steel, offering a life cycle cost that is significantly lower than that of its metal counterpart.

Advantages of FRP

Advantages of FRP
🛡️ Corrosion Resistant Fiberglass products are known for their ability to provide corrosion resistance in the harshest environments and chemical exposures.
👣 Slip Resistant The integrally applied grit surfaces have unmatched slip resistance for improved worker safety.
🧹 Low Maintenance Reduces or eliminates the need for sandblasting, scraping and painting. Easily cleaned with a high pressure washer.
🔥 Fire Retardant Flame spread rating of 25 or less (ASTM E-84) and meets self-extinguishing requirements of ASTM D-635.
⚖️ High Strength-to-Weight Less than one-half the weight of steel grating, allowing easy installation with no heavy equipment.
⚡ Non-Conductive Electrically non-conductive for safety and low thermal conductivity for physical comfort.
☀️ UV Protection UV inhibitors in the resin matrix and synthetic surfacing veils provide optimum protection from weathering.
⏳ Long Service Life Outstanding durability provides improved product life over traditional materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes pultruded FRP grating better than steel?
Pultruded FRP grating is significantly lighter (less than half the weight of steel), corrosion-resistant, and non-conductive. It offers lower installation costs and minimal maintenance requirements over its long service life.
Is the grating suitable for high-traffic or vehicular loads?
Yes, we offer High Load Capacity (HI) grating specifically designed for vehicular loads up to H20, as well as industrial and pedestrian-grade options.
How does FRP grating handle fire safety?
Most of our FRP products are engineered with a flame spread rating of 25 or less according to ASTM E-84 and meet self-extinguishing requirements per ASTM D-635.
Does the color fade under UV exposure?
Our products incorporate UV inhibitors within the resin matrix and a synthetic surfacing veil to provide optimum protection against the structural and aesthetic effects of UV weathering.
Can FRP grating be used in chemical plants?
Absolutely. FRP is specifically known for its superior corrosion resistance in harsh chemical environments, making it ideal for the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
Is it easy to install?
Yes. Because it is lightweight, it can be easily fabricated and installed with standard tools and less manpower, eliminating the need for heavy lifting equipment.
